Scott Wood

Hey there, my name is Scott.
I'm a Creative Director, 3D Artist & Sculptor based in Whitefish, Montana.

I have over 25 years of experience in commercial arts, which has given me plenty of time to explore a wide range of creative disciplines. I can offer services across creative/art direction, 3D modeling, motion graphics, VFX, digital art, illustration, Python/JavaScript scripting, graphic design, and more.

I started in traditional art as a youth, which transitioned into a career in graphic design. From there, an insatiable curiosity and a persistent drive to solve problems brought me across the spectrum — eventually working on animations for National Geographic and 3D visualizations for Supra and Moomba boats.

That same curiosity led me back to working with my hands. I now create bronze sculptures through the lost-wax casting process, bringing the same eye for form and detail from my digital work into something you can hold. The two practices feed each other in ways I never expected.

These traits carry into my personal life as well — a love of working with people has led me to guide fishing trips in the mountains of Wyoming and race sailboats to Alaska.

Curiosity is my superpower. I take pride in a strong work ethic, being an excellent teammate, and finding creative solutions a client didn't even know were possible. Software

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Audition)
  • Proficient with Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, Substance Painter/Designer, and ZBrush
  • Proficient with various render engines (Redshift, Arnold, Cycles, Octane)
  • Experience writing tools for 3D modeling and animation software (Blender, Cinema4D, Houdini, After Effects)
  • Experience with Git, VS Code, Node.js, Vue, JavaScript, C#, and Python
  • Experience with the Unity game engine
  • Experience working with printers and a strong understanding of print production
  • Strong understanding of creating and exporting assets for different digital platforms
  • Experience working with CAD software to create and optimize 3D models for printing or cutting
  • A proven willingness to learn new software

  • Comfortable working with people from different backgrounds with the ability to communicate across disciplines
  • Understands the importance of both taking and giving constructive feedback
